Costs Example

The following video explains a more complicated example where scenarios are used to complete a specified objective.

Situation

This model demonstrates some of ProModel AutoCAD® Edition's basic features and the analytical value of simulation.

It is counterintuitive in most systems to expect that additional resources reduce product cost. If the increase in staffing results in a disproportionately large increase in output, more operators might be the right answer. Using scenarios, the effect of additional people and additional equipment can be easily evaluated.

Objective

Currently, you can make 48 parts per shift. An increase in demand to 80 parts per shift is required, without allowing cost of goods per shift to go above $400.00.

You can experiment with adding a machine and try different manpower scenarios.
